5 AI toolsof the week

Text, design, data / knowledge, research and agents: one tool each, checked for value, cost and data protection.

Week 15/2026 was about productivity gains and agent infrastructure. Google dominated the headlines with three major releases: integrating NotebookLM directly into the Gemini app creates a new model for personal knowledge management, while the new interactive 3D simulations in Gemini change how complex concepts are researched and visualised. Google also cut the cost of AI video generation to just 5 cents per clip with Veo 3.1 Lite. In the enterprise sector, Anthropic set a new standard for deploying AI agents in production with the launch of "Claude Managed Agents" (public beta). UPDF 2.5, presented as the first PDF editor built entirely on autonomous AI agents, rounds off the week.

This issue dates from before the English edition launched in October 2026. Summaries and short descriptions are translated; the detailed reviews are available in German. Detailed review in German →
